Smurfit Kappa adopted an innovative approach to female leadership development. They opened access to participants from all areas and levels in the business and facilitated self-nomination. The design was deliberately kept simple. It focused on building confidence and self-awareness, growing networks and connections, and immediately started delivering strong success metrics.

The passion for the project was palpable to the judges. It was purposeful, inclusive, with simplicity, scalability and flexibility built in from the start, so as to be easily replicated in other regions across the globe.​
